Awards programs which recognize excellence in TV programming. The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences administers award ceremonies throughout the year and is a non-profit which was founded in 1946 to promote the television and broadband screen entertainment industry. Emmy Awards are also administered by sister organizations: the National Academy and the International Academy.
The George Foster Peabody Awards were founded in 1941 and recognize distingueshed public service by radio and television networks and the individuals who work at them.
